Do not save what is left for spending, but spend what is left after saving. -Warren Buffet

Hey there, I'm Colleen!

I help women spend money wisely by giving you the tools to stop spending more than you earn and create a savings plan that keeps it that way.

woman on a mission, wife and budgeting

Welcome to my website.

Here, you’ll learn about monthly budgets, and dive into the relationships that matter most: marriage, kids, and Jesus Christ, our savior, tied up into a bow with personal development.

Here, you’ll learn how to take control of your money and tell it where to go so that you are not always wondering why there seems to be a monthly shortage.

But before we get into that, let’s get to know each other better.

I didn’t always have this lifestyle…

…living all out in my career, writing books and blog posts in my free time, and the most jaw-dropping outcome, living without debt.

In fact, a few years ago, you could have found me and my husband talking about our credit score with pride, drowning in college debt and car payments, and justifying our vacations… because we worked hard and deserved a break from it all.

We thought we had it all: stable jobs, a house, the perfect dog, “good” debt, and could pay off our credit cards

“if we wanted to, ” … sound familiar?

I’m here to help empower you to say no to things you don’t want or need. You know what I’m talking about: the 70% off sale, the buy one get one free deal, and other innovative ways marketers study us to get us to give up our money with joy.

Want to know what lights me up?

Helping women take control of their spending habits and banishing debt from their lives.

My advice is not a get-rich-quick plan, or even wave a magic wand, and you will be debt-free within a few days.

Real talk: it depends on how much debt you have, and what you are willing to do. These actions will determine how quickly you can get out of the hole and onto the path to living your dream.

In my case, it took four and a half years, just being honest. But, I will tell you, it was worth it in ways I could never imagine.

What makes my advice unique is that my husband and I actually did the work.

My husband Thomas bought us a $10 book: Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.

We listened to his radio show every night on our commute home for encouragement.  Little did I know that our $10 investment allowed us to pay off over six figures’ worth of debt and build an emergency fund to replace our lines of credit.

As I shared our journey with friends and family, I noticed a recurring theme with women. They didn’t want to take radical approaches to paying off debt or to feel like they did something wrong.

This blog is all about helping women get comfortable with money, learn how to manage it wisely, and stop sticking their heads in the sand every time they start a conversation with their family about money.

I’m so glad you’ve decided to visit my little corner of the internet, and I can’t wait to help you start making the most of your budget with a proven path to becoming debt-free and living the life you want with your family.
